I'm now based out of Sydney, Australia. I've packed up my shop in Melbourne and now working with X Customs, where my design studio is going in. I've been growing tired of the freelance world and lack of physical interaction with international clients. I'm still doing all the same work with Engine4 and my clients but now I have a permanent role with X Customs branding and developing their brand.
I've learnt a lot aside from just design with the 10 years now i've been working for West Coast Customs and all the other companies and industries i've dabbled in. I feel I bring a sense of realistic optimism knowing just how much work and time it takes to get things done. I enjoy the people I work with at the shop - I'm excited to see the new facility all finished, which should be open to the public early February. It's a brand new building and we're not holding out on anything. I think this will be good for the creative juice flow.
Just got back from SEMA, Las Vegas - caught up with WCC and some other clients. Feeling pretty good about things, especially focusing more on Australian projects and development, versus this constant email/phone ping pong i've been stuck in for the last few years since leaving California. I'm starting to really cut down job requests from people I don't have faith in and only working on projects I feel are better in the long run.
I'm working smarter these days.
